National Simultaneous Storytime

National Simultaneous Storytime: Wednesday 24 May

Each year the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) hold National Simultaneous Storytime in May. A picture fiction book by an Australian author and illustrator is chosen to be read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. The book chosen for 2017 is The Cow Tripped Over the Moon written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood. The students in Foundation to Year 2 will listen to the story being read and take part in a range of supporting educational activities, songs, games, dress ups and lots of fun. The aim of the event is to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books and to promote Australian authors and illustrators.
